THE FEAST OF
THE ATONEMENT
(Monthly Especial Activity)
Rev. William Soto Santiago
Saturday, 29, of September 2012
Cayey, Puerto Rico
Good morning, dear friends, and the brethren present and those in the different nations, today the first Saturday of the month, which corresponds to our activity, it is a great blessing to be with you all in this occasion.
And for the reverend Miguel Bermudez Marin, happy birthday Miguel, may God bless you and use you greatly in His Work always in this end time, and may He allow you to remain alive for the transformation and to allow you to see also all the promises made a reality which God has promised for His Church for this end time, and may He permit you to see the fulfilment of the Tent vision when it appears on the scene according to the prophesy and vision that God gave to the reverend William Branham.
So therefore, Miguel, may God bless you and may He continue to use you greatly in His Work in this end time; and to Ruth, may God bless you and use you greatly also along with the reverend Miguel Bermudez Marin.
May the blessings of Christ be upon you all, dear friends and brothers present, and those in other nations. From here, from Puerto Rico we ask for blessings for all of you, and for the ones that are in Puerto Rico also.
For this occasion we read a passage of the Bible, in Leviticus chapter, 23, verse 26, and on, where it says:
“And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
Also on the tenth of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.
For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.”
“THE FEAST OF THE ATONEMENT.”
This Feast of the Atonement is very important, so much as for the Hebrew people, as also for the believers in Christ, because in the feasts that God gave the Hebrew people to keep, we find the history of Israel in its different stages, and we find also the prophetic part that speaks of the future, wherein those cycles will be repeated again and things will take place that will give fulfilment to those Hebrew feasts.
Therefore, the Hebrew feasts have the historic element which is commemorated in each feast, and it also has the prophetic element, which speaks of the future wherein those feasts will be fulfilled prophetically, in other words, that divine cycle will be repeated again and the things that will take place will be parallel to that which happened in the history of the Hebrew feasts; therefore, these Hebrew feasts have the historic part and the prophetic part.
We saw in the previous conference where we spoke of the day of New Year, there at that Day the trumpets sound, the trumpet, a feast at the sound of trumpets, Rosh Hashaná, in other words, New Year, where it is determined… a judgement is set for the people and the destiny of the people is determined, wherein everyone is called to be gathered in that Feast and then act according to what that Feast says.
Then follows, ten days afterwards, the Day of Atonement follows, in other words, day of forgiveness, for they were given ten days from the first day of the seventh month up to the tenth day for the person to reflect, and to see if he has failed to God and to ask for forgiveness if he has failed to God.
And in the Day of Atonement, on the tenth day, there each person being repented of his sins asks forgiveness to God, and when the high priest entered into the Most Holy Place with the blood of the atonement and would sprinkle it seven times upon the Mercy Seat, and after ending his labors of that day, the people was forgiven, all those that had repented; and whoever did not repent and did not ask forgiveness to God, then he would be cut off from the people, the divine judgement fell upon the person, because he did not repent and did not recognized his substitute, which is the kid goat of the atonement, wherein two kid goats: one which was offered unto God as a sacrifice, and the other, upon which the high priest would place his hands upon the head of that goat, and confessed the sins of the people and that goat was sent far away and cast into a precipice or taken far away, and thus the sins of the people, the sins of each person would be taken far away.
Both kid goats: the one sacrificed unto the Lord and the one which is sent far away after the sins of the people are confessed upon that goat, they both represent Christ the Messiah, Christ taking upon Himself our sins and dying for us in our place, He died on Calvary’s Cross. And then Christ going to, after dying and being buried He went to hell because of our sins, He died as a sinner, and the sinner goes to hell; and instead of us Christ went to hell in our place, and took there the sins of the people, the sins of those that would receive Him as Savior, taking the sins that were confessed to Christ. He took there the sins of Adam and Eve and all the sins of the people that had sinned against God and had repented before God.
That’s why when John saw Jesus he said: “Behold the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world,” that’s how Christ took away the sin of the human being and now each person is responsible for his own sins.
This Day of Atonement speaks to us also of the day in which Moses descended from mount Sinai with the new stone tables wherein God wrote again the ten commandments. Moses obtained there the forgiveness an mercy for the people for the sin they had committed when they built the golden calf, wherein the people turned into idolatry.
Therefore, the Day of Atonement is very important for every person that lives on the Earth. Israel has not yet seen the Atonement, has not seen that the death of Jesus at Calvary’s Cross is the Sacrifice for sin. There is no longer a sacrifice for sin in Jerusalem, for there is no temple there, and consequently there is no other sacrifice for sin, but the Sacrifice carried out by Christ on Cavalry’s Cross.
The believers in Christ have obtained the forgiveness of sins, they have been cleansed with the Blood of Christ, and have been baptized in water in His Name, and Christ has baptized them with the Holy Spirit and Fire and has produced the new birth in those persons. The Church, Christianity has been living during these two thousand years, during that lapse of time that covers two thousand years in the stage or epoch of Pentecost.
In that Feast of Pentecost, Christianity has become the first fruits of the harvest: that is why the wheat is gathered, the people is gathered in the Feast of Pentecost during the Dispensation of Grace, and are presented before God, Who receives them and baptizes them with Holy Spirit and Fire and produces in them the new birth.
Israel as a nation has not yet received the Atonement. Israel as a nation has neither entered into the divine cycle of the Feast of Pentecost. God has been taking as individuals, as an individual, every person that hears the preaching of the Gospel of Christ, believes in Christ and receives Him as only and sufficient Savior; but with Israel, God deals with them as a nation.
Israel will receive the Feast of the Atonement after the seven Church Ages, God will remove the veil from them and will open their spiritual eyes and will bring huge revival for Israel, and then Israel will believe, and will recognize that that Jesus of Nazareth that was born in Bethlehem of Judea was the promised Messiah, but He had to die to take our sins in order to perform the Work of Redemption: He died for Israel and for His Church.
That will be acknowledge by Israel at the Last Day. As Jacob in chapter 28, of Genesis, verse 11, to 29, the Scripture tells us that he saw a ladder set on the ground and the upper part reached Heaven. He saw angels ascending and descending in it, and in the upper part of the ladder he saw God. When he awoke, he said that God told him: “I am the God of your father,” in other words, God revealed Himself to him as the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, and there He promised Jacob that He would not leave him until bringing him back to the promised land.
Therefore, Jacob would live for a season in the land where his relatives lived (the relatives of his mother) he would have a wife there, and would have a family, and then would return to the promised land, the land of Israel, from where he had come.
When Jacob wakes up, he says: “This is no other thing but… this place is no other thing but house of God and gate to Heaven and I knew it not.” Thus also is Christ: House of God and Gate to Heaven, and consequently, His Church also: House of God and Gate to Heaven, that’s why the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is called: The House of God, and consequently in It is the Door to Heaven which is Crist, which said: ” I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (St. John chapter 10, verse 9).
Therefore, the moment will come, the moment will soon arrive when Israel will receive a spiritual awakening, a revival, a spiritual resurrection, according to Hosea, chapter 6, verses 1, to 3, and it says it will be “after two days, at the third day He will revive us, has said the Lord.” Third day, from Christ to the present two days have transpired, two thousand years, because “a day for the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day,” a day before the God is as a thousand years, and now the third Day is the third millennium from Christ to the present.
Already according to the Gregorian calendar we have entered the third millennium from Christ to the present, therefore, we are at the third Day, wherein God will resurrect Israel, and will deal with them as a nation, and consequently there will be a spiritual resurrection for Israel: and there Israel will recognize the Sacrifice of Atonement for sin carried our at Calvary’s Cross by Jesus Christ, they will know that the Feast of Atonement was fulfilled in Jesus.
The Sacrifice of Atonement was carried out by Christ, and Israel will enter into that Feast in this end time, and since that Feast is the day to be reconciled unto God, in other words, to be reconciled to God, “and whosoever is not afflicted on that very day, he will be cut off from the people,” each person afflicting for his sin.
Thus it is for Israel, as it has been for the believers in Christ which form the Church, in whom there was repentance and a spiritual revival within the soul of the person; and whoever does not repent in that Day of Atonement by recognizing Christ as the Atonement for our sins, he will be cut off from the people, in other words, he loses his rights to live eternally, he loses the blessing of obtaining forgiveness for his sins.
Therefore, the Feast of Atonement is important for, so much as for the believers in Christ that already believe in It since two thousand years ago, and the Jews that soon are going to be awakened spiritually, they are going to receive a revival, a spiritual resurrection, and they will wake up to the reality of the Divine Program, and that will be the Feast of Atonement for Israel in this end time; and it is not to kill a little animal as an atonement, for already the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, as the Kid Goat also took our sins and died at Cavalry’s Cross. That’s why at Cavalry’s Cross Christ speaking of Israel, says: “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Their forgiveness will be effective when they receive Him in this end time.
Israel will receive the forgiveness of his sins; Isaiah chapter 59, speaks of that and also Romans, chapter 11, verses 21, to 27, St. Paul explaining what will happen to Israel, which will be when the fulness of the Gentiles has come, in other words, when the last elect written in Heaven in the Lamb’s Book of Life has become part of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, the Feast of Atonement is the most important Feast of all, which follows the Day of New Year or Day of the Trumpets or Feast of the Trumpets.
“THE FEAST OF THE ATONEMENT.”
It is important for every person to receive Christ as Savior before the divine cycle of God dealing with the believers in Christ from among the Gentiles closes, from among which He is calling a people for His Name’s sake, and also from among the Jews He is calling persons as individuals to form part of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ; and then will come the glorious moment of the spiritual resurrection, of the spiritual revival of God for Israel under this Feast of the Trumpets, so that Israel may receive the forgiveness from God.
“THE FEAST OF THE ATONEMENT.” that is the second of the last three feasts: The Feast of the Trumpets of the first day of the seventh month, and then the Feast of the Atonement, and then follows the Feast of the Tabernacles, which speaks of the Kingdom of the Messiah. About this Feast will be speaking in another occasion according to what we have promised, the fifteenth day of the seventh month is the Feast of the Tabernacles, we will see there what that Feast signifies in the historic part and what it signifies prophetically for ths end time.
It has been a great privilege to be with all of you ministers, brothers, and sisters, fellow workers, ministers helpers, and everyone else present, and those in other nations, to be with you on this occasion, chatting with all of you about the FEAST OF THE ATONEMENT.
The Atonement is Christ, therefore, the believers in Christ have the Atonement for their sins and consequently our sins were taken far away, and were returned to Satan, who was the originator of sin, to whom Christ returned them to when He descended to hell; to where He took our sins and left them there, He remitted them to the devil, and took the keys of hell and death and passed to Paradise where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were, and He resurrected them with Him.
All that Christ did for me, and for whom else? For each of you also, He is the Feast, and He is the kid goat of the Atonement which was sacrificed, and He was also the escape goat, which remained alive and upon which were confessed the sins of the people, the high priest would confess them upon the escape goat.
So, both kid goats, the kid goat for the Lord, for the eternal One, which was sacrificed, and the escape goat which was sent into the wilderness after the high priest confessed the sins of the people, both goats represent Christ: Christ in His physical body was represented in the kid goat for the Lord, and Christ in His heavenly body was represented in the escape goat. That’s how simple it is.
May the blessings of Christ the Angel of the Covenant be upon you all, and continue having a happy afternoon or day those here in Puerto Rico and those of you in Venezuela and in other nations, and may God bless you all there in Venezuela that are in that meeting and important congress there in Venezuela.
May God bless you all, and may He bless all those present greatly. Until tomorrow Sunday God willing.
I leave with you the reverend Jose Benjamin Perez to continue.
