The Mystery of the Seventh Seal

Good evening, beloved friends and brethren present, and radio listeners. It is a great blessing to be with you on this occasion, to share some moments of fellowship with you around the Divine Program pertaining to our time, in which we are living.

For this evening, our subject will be: “THE MYSTERY OF THE SEVENTH SEAL.”

This mystery contained in this Seventh Seal, which is found in Revelation chapter 8, verse 1 and on, where it says:

And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

May God allow us to understand His Word on this occasion.

Our subject, as I told you, is: “THE MYSTERY OF THE SEVENTH SEAL.”

This mystery, which has been hidden for millions of years: a mystery that has been in God’s Mind, and that at the Last Day, in the seventh millennium, is promised to be revealed to all of God’s sons and daughters.

Now, in order to understand this mystery of the Seventh Seal, we have to understand that the Seventh Seal is the Second Coming of Christ; and this mystery of the Second Coming of Christ has been in God’s Mind for thousands or millions or billions of years, but at the Last Day, it would be revealed to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now, we find this mystery here, in chapter 8, verse 1, in the opening of the Seventh Seal, where we find that there was silence in Heaven for almost half an hour.

This mystery contained in the Seventh Seal is so important that when It was opened in Heaven… In Heaven they didn’t know, they didn’t understand this mystery, because this is the mystery which Christ said that not even the angels knew;1 and when It was opened in Heaven and made known in Heaven, there was silence in Heaven for about half an hour. They didn’t know that mystery, but when It was opened, they knew it.

And everything was kept silent so that there would be no interruptions in the fulfillment of the Seventh Seal here on Earth, so that the enemy of God couldn’t hinder that entire Divine Program pertaining to the Seventh Seal.

Remember that when the Prophet Moses was born, Pharaoh ordered the death of all male children.2 When the midwives saw that a male child was going to be born, they had the order of Pharaoh that they should not let him be born alive; but the midwives feared God and allowed the male children to be born.

And when they asked Pharaoh—when Pharaoh asked them why they were allowing male children to be born if the order was that no male child should be born… For the Egyptian wise men had seen something in the sky, a sign in heaven, that let them know that the deliverer of the Hebrew people would be born among the Hebrew people. And well, Pharaoh didn’t want the Hebrew people to be delivered, therefore, he didn’t want the Deliverer of the Hebrew people to be born; and he ordered that all male children be killed when they were born (that they be killed by the midwives).

But notice, these midwives feared God and didn’t do what Pharaoh asked. Pharaoh held them accountable, and they said: “It’s because Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women. Egyptian women are weak; but Hebrew women are strong. After all, they have done all kinds of work in bondage; so, they are strong women, and when they call the midwife because they are going to give birth, by the time the midwife arrives, the children have already been born.” That was how the midwives got away with it, and that was probably true too.

Now, notice how God blessed those two midwives because they feared God; and they acted according to the Divine Program by allowing the boys to be born, so that the Prophet Moses could be born.

And then God put him there in Pharaoh’s house, so that he would be raised there in Pharaoh’s house. In other words, later on, He hid him in the very place of the pharaoh who was looking for him.3

Now, we can see that the enemy of God always looks for the instrument that God has for each age or each dispensation, to try to destroy him, even as he is born here on Earth.

That also happened with the birth of Jesus. Notice, King Herod ordered that children who were two years old and under be killed when he found out that the Messiah, the King of Israel, had been born in Bethlehem of Judea.4

But notice, God sent His Angel to tell Joseph to go to Egypt with the child and with Mary. They departed into Egypt the same night that the Archangel appeared to him. And when Pharaoh—when the king ordered to kill all the children who were two years old and under, the Messiah had already left Bethlehem of Judea, and He was in Egypt.

But all those children who stayed there, who were two years old and under, died, because the king was looking for the child Jesus to kill him; but he didn’t even know His Name, nor did he know through whom He had been born, and he didn’t know all those details that the king wanted to know so that he could go directly to that child and kill Him. Look at the heart of that king: just like the Pharaoh of Egypt, they have no mercy, not even for a newborn child.

Now, notice how those people were inspired by the devil, they were instruments of the devil; and through those instruments, the devil was looking for the instrument of God, to destroy him, even though He was a young child.

And now, to prevent the interruption of the fulfillment of the Second Coming of Christ, there was silence in Heaven when the Seventh Seal was opened, so that the devil wouldn’t know anything about the mystery of the Seventh Seal, the mystery of the Second Coming of Christ, and so that he wouldn’t know the details of the Second Coming of Christ.

Now, notice that the Second Coming of Christ has a Program that will be carried out in the fulfillment of the Second Coming of Christ, just as the First Coming of Christ had a Program to be carried out at that time. And notice, the Program is in the Word: It is the fulfillment of what God has promised.

And notice that the First Coming of Christ wasn’t something that took a minute, or a day, or a month, or a year, rather, the *First Coming of Christ took thirty-three years: from the moment He was created in Mary’s womb until He died, and then ascended to Heaven.

When some people think about the Coming of the Lord, they only think about a minute, an hour, a week, or a month; but they don’t realize that there are countless promises relevant to the Coming of the Lord, which must be fulfilled in the Coming of the Lord; and that takes a certain amount of time.

For example, for the time of the First Coming of Christ, there was the promise that a woman would bear a son. That was in Genesis 3, verse 15, when God spoke about the woman’s Seed: so, through a woman would come the Deliverer, the Messiah promised for the restoration of the human race to Eternal Life.

And then through the Prophet Isaiah, in chapter 7, verse 14, it tells us: “For behold, the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and His Name shall be called Emmanuel,” (which being interpreted is: God with us).5

That promise had to be fulfilled; therefore, a woman had to appear on Earth, among the Hebrew people, of the seed of David (King David), in whom that promise would be fulfilled. And that promise was fulfilled in the virgin Mary, to whom the Archangel Gabriel appeared and gave this good news, and He told her that the Messiah, the King of Israel, the One who would sit on the Throne of David, would come through her.6

Notice, all the things I have said to you were made known to Mary in these words. In chapter 1 of Saint Luke, verse 30 and on, it says:

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

Now notice, this Name “Jesus” had not been revealed to the Hebrew people as the Name that the Messiah would have. That secret of the Name that the Messiah would use in His Coming was reserved to be revealed, to be made known, to the woman who would have that child; and the Archangel Gabriel brought her the Name that this child would have. He says:

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Now we can see here that the Archangel Gabriel appears to the virgin Mary to let her know that the Messiah would come through her, and thus, to also give her the Name that the Messiah would have. She was the first person who heard the Name that the Messiah would have.

And now, notice how this promise that God had made through the Prophet Isaiah and also in Genesis: that it would be through a virgin, a woman; now the time came to fulfill that promise, and the Archangel Gabriel appears to give the virgin Mary this good news. And through the virgin Mary, notice, the Messiah was born; and the promise, the prophecy that said it would be through a virgin, was fulfilled.

And notice, it would be Emmanuel, His Name would be Emmanuel, which being interpreted is: God with us. In other words, God with us, Jesus is: God with us. God visiting the human race in a body of flesh, God manifested in human flesh in all His fullness, in the Person of Jesus.

And now, notice how when Christ was born in Bethlehem of Judea, the First Coming of Christ was already fulfilled; but the First Coming of Christ was going through different stages: He had to be born in Bethlehem of Judea, then go to Egypt to escape from the hands of King Herod; and then, by being in Egypt, the prophecy that said: “[I] called my son out of Egypt,”7 would be fulfilled again, because that prophecy would have multiple fulfillments. That prophecy had been fulfilled in the Hebrew people, because God had called Israel (the Hebrew people) out of Egypt; and now it would be fulfilled in Jesus too.

Since the Hebrew people are God’s firstborn son as a nation… Now that prophecy is also fulfilled in every firstborn, it has a fulfillment too.

That prophecy also had a fulfillment in Jesus, as the Firstborn; and it also has its fulfillment in each son and daughter of God, as the firstborn of God written in Heaven, in the Lamb’s Book of Life; because God calls us out of the spiritual Egypt, out of the world, and He brings us to His Kingdom: He brings us to the mystical Body of Christ, upon believing in Christ and receiving His Holy Spirit, and thus, being born again.

And now, notice how the First Coming of Christ was fulfilled there, among the Hebrew people. The star of Bethlehem, that sign of the First Coming of the Son of man, was appearing in heaven for two consecutive years; and some wise men in Babylon saw that sign and left for the land of Israel to look for the Messiah among the Hebrew people, because they knew that was the sign of the Coming of the Son of man at that time.

They arrived in Jerusalem looking for the Messiah, asking: “Where is He that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East, and have come to worship Him.”8 And in Jerusalem, they knew nothing about the Coming of the Messiah. In Jerusalem, not even the high priest (the head of the Hebrew religion) knew anything about the Coming of the Messiah, which was already fulfilled among the Hebrew people.

And the religious leaders of the Hebrew religion, the Council of the Hebrew religion, the Sanhedrin Council, made up of seventy Hebrew scholars, knew nothing about the Coming of the Messiah, which was fulfilled among them.

And King Herod didn’t know anything either; but he became interested in the First Coming of the Messiah, why? To look for the Messiah and kill Him; that was in the political interest of King Herod, who loved his political position more than the First Coming of Christ.

And now notice, the king was the one who took interest, saying… Notice, it says here (chapter 2 of Saint Matthew, verse 1 and on, says):

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

That prophecy is in Micah chapter 5, verse 2.

And now, that prophecy had to be fulfilled where? In Bethlehem of Judea. And that star had already been appearing for two years; therefore, the Messiah had to be approximately two years old.

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

(In other words: how long had it been since they started seeing that star appear in the sky; because that was the sign of the First Coming of Christ, the sign of the Son of man being shown in heaven.)

In the Book of Numbers,9 it also teaches us that there would come a Star out of Jacob; and there they had it.

Now, that star represented what? It represented the Messiah in His First Coming.

And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

There we have the king lying, because his interest was knowing where He was in order to kill Him.

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

And when they were come into the house…

And hadn’t He been born in a stable? But since He was already about two years old, He wasn’t in a stable anymore, He was already in a house.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Now notice, they arrived in the land of Israel looking for the Messiah, and they found Him; because the sign of the First Coming of the Son of man had already been appearing in heaven for about two years.

And when the sign of the Son of man appears in heaven, and a person sees the sign of the Son of man in heaven, what must he do? Well, search on Earth for the fulfillment of the Coming of the Son of man; because the sign is already in heaven. And when they saw the sign in heaven, they then searched on Earth for the Coming of the Son of man, the Coming of the Messiah, the Coming of the King of Israel; and they found Him, because the First Coming of the Messiah was already fulfilled.

Then we find that there was a time period of thirty-three years until the climax of the Divine Program pertaining to the First Coming of the Messiah; and the climax was the death of Christ on Calvary’s Cross, as the Lamb of God, dying for us, bearing our sins there and dying for us, and thus, redeeming all of us.

Now, notice that the First Coming of Christ lasted how long? Thirty-three years, fulfilled on Earth. His ministry began when He was nearly thirty years old, that is, twenty-nine and a half years old; and His ministry lasted three and a half years. So, at the age of thirty-three, the Messiah died.

When He began His ministry at nearly thirty years old, the seventieth week of Daniel’s prophecy began; and in the midst of the week, the prophecy of Daniel says the Messiah would be cut off.10

And that happened when Christ died on Calvary’s Cross: He died in the midst of the seventieth week; and the Hebrew people only have half of the seventieth week left to be fulfilled at the Last Day, during the Great Tribulation; because the seventieth week stopped when Christ died on Calvary’s Cross.

And from that point on, notice, the Divine Program would turn to the Gentile people, among whom God would call out a people for His Name.11 And among the people for His Name, there would also be some Hebrews, such as the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ and the believers of the time of the apostles; and then the Divine Program focused on the Gentiles, there in Asia Minor, under the ministry of Saint Paul.

And then, we find that Christ has been among the Gentiles, manifested in Holy Spirit, bringing forth (what?) the new birth of every son and daughter of God.

The Gospel of Grace has been preached during all these centuries that have passed, and even in our time; and millions of human beings have been believing in Christ as our Savior, and washing away our sins in the Blood of Christ, and receiving His Holy Spirit; and therefore, being born again: being born in the Kingdom of God in a new race, a new Heavenly race, of which Christ is the first.

Christ is the beginning of the Creation of God,12 of this new Creation of beings who believe in Christ as our Savior, wash away their sins in the Blood of Christ, and receive the Spirit of Christ; and therefore, they receive a theophanic spirit of the sixth dimension; and thus, they have access, by one Spirit, into the Kingdom of God, into the mystical Body of Christ.13 And that mystical Body of Christ is the new race that comes from God through the second Adam.

Through the old race, coming from the first Adam, we come to Earth in a mortal body, with a spirit of the world, live here on Earth for some time, grow old, and then die. And if not, then we die earlier because of some accident or illness. Because the old race that descends from Adam, since he sinned, the sentence for sin has been death, and therefore, he cannot live for all eternity.

But through Jesus Christ, we obtain the new birth, we are born into a new race, of which Christ is the first, the head, He is the second Adam; and that new race is born with Eternal Life. That is why one receives a theophanic spirit of the sixth dimension, which is the first thing a person has to receive in order to have Eternal Life; and then, at the Last Day, he receives the eternal body Christ has promised for all His elect. That eternal body will be received in the time of the Second Coming of Christ.

Now, notice, with that new body which Christ has promised for His elect, to be given at the Last Day… because He will raise all His elect, when? At the Last Day, Christ said in Saint John chapter 6, verse 40; He says:

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

In this 6th chapter of Saint John, we find four occasions in which Christ says: “And I will raise him up at the Last Day.”14

And which is the Last Day? Before the Lord, Saint Peter and the Prophet Moses tell us that one day before the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Second Peter chapter 3, verse 8 and Psalm 90, verse 4. One day before the Lord is a thousand years to human beings, meaning, a millennium. And when reference is made to the Last Days, that is referring to the fifth millennium, sixth millennium, and seventh millennium.

That is why in the Scripture we find that Saint Paul tells us that God spoke to the Hebrew people through the Old Testament prophets, and that He also spoke through Jesus Christ.

Now, let’s see how he says this, so that you have a clear picture of what we are talking about; it says [Hebrews 1:1]:

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son…

In which days? It says:

“…Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds…

Now notice, two thousand years ago Saint Paul was saying that God has spoken by His Son in the Last Days; and two thousand years have already passed.

How can we understand that Saint Paul is saying that those were the Last Days, if two thousand years have already passed, and we are still in the Last Days?

Many people, when they talk about the Last Days at this time, they only refer to this time that we are living in. But notice, Saint Paul refers to the Last Days… When he talks about the Last Days, he means starting from the time of Jesus.

And also Saint Peter, when they received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, he says that God had promised through the Prophet Joel that He would pour out of His Spirit (when?) in the Last Days.

In the Book of Acts, chapter 2, verses 14 to 20, we find the words of Saint Peter; and also in Joel chapter 2.

So, were they mistaken, thinking that they were in the Last Days when they were not? They were in the Last Days, yes; and Jesus was also having His ministry in the Last Days; because the Last Days are: the fifth millennium, sixth millennium, and seventh millennium to human beings.

And when Jesus was four to seven years old, the fifth millennium began; and therefore, the end time began, in other words, the Last Days; and that is why what they said about God speaking through Jesus Christ in the Last Days was right. See? There is no contradiction in the Word of God.

And now, if we add to the calendar the years it is behind, two days have already passed before God, which are two millenniums to human beings: the fifth and sixth millennium; and we are in the seventh millennium, if we add to the calendar the years it is behind.

And now, we who live at the Last Day, are living at the time of which Christ said: “And I will raise him up at the Last Day.” The Last Day is the seventh millennium, which has begun if we add to the calendar the years it is behind; and if we don’t add them, well, there are only three years left for the seventh millennium to begin.

But, could God’s calendar have fallen behind? I don’t think so. The human being’s calendar is behind because they made it fall behind, but God has not made His calendar fall behind.

So, if we are in the Last Days, if God’s calendar has not fallen behind yet, we are living in the seventh millennium, which is the millennium when God will raise the dead in Christ and change us who are alive in the mystical Body of Christ; and who already have our theophanic body (the one we have received when we have believed in Christ as our Savior, and washed away our sins in the Blood of Christ, and received His Holy Spirit); and we are waiting for our new body: the eternal body that Christ has promised for all His believers, who have washed away their sins in His Blood and received His Holy Spirit, whose names have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life before the foundation of the world.

Now, we can see where we stand in the Divine Program, and at this Last Day is when the mystery of the Seventh Seal will be fulfilled.

Now, notice that the mystery of the First Coming of Christ had thirty-three years of fulfillment here on Earth; and notice, the high priest and the Council of the Hebrew religion, the Sanhedrin Council, with its seventy scholars, didn’t realize that the First Coming of Christ was being fulfilled among the Hebrew people.

Instead, they said: “This Man will not reign over us,”15 in other words, “We won’t let this Man sit on David’s Throne to reign over us.” And they asked for the death of Christ, and said: “Crucify Him! His Blood be on us.”16

Now, notice how everything happened in the First Coming of Christ. And they were waiting for the Coming of the Messiah, and they were also waiting for the coming of Elijah, who would prepare the way of the Lord.

The forerunner of the First Coming of Christ, notice, would be Elijah; but when Elijah came, he came with a new name, and his name was: John the Baptist, but the ministry that was in John the Baptist was the ministry of Elijah. The Archangel Gabriel says that, and so does our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.17

The words of the Archangel Gabriel are the following. It says in chapter 1, verse 13 and on, of Saint Luke, it says:

But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Now, notice that this prophet, John the Baptist, would come in the power of Elijah, in the Spirit and power of Elijah; because when God promises that He will send a prophet who has already come in the past and gone, when He says that He will send him again, that is the ministry of that prophet in another prophet, in another man from the present time when God sends that prophet.

And now, notice how, when God has promised that He will send Elijah, it has always been the ministry of Elijah in another man.

• The first time that this ministry was manifested on Earth was in Elijah the Tishbite.

• The second time was in Elisha. When the children of the prophets saw that Elisha opened the Jordan with Elijah’s mantle, as the Prophet Elijah had done, they said: “The spirit of Elijah has rested on Elisha.”18

And notice, the things that God told the Prophet Elijah to do that were not done by the Prophet Elijah, were later done by the Prophet Elisha. So, Elijah is the one who did them, it was the ministry of Elijah that did those things, although it was in another man.

God had told the Prophet Elijah, when he was on Mount Sinai, there in a cave, He told him: “Go, return on your way which you came from, and anoint Hazael to be king over Syria, Jehu to be king over Israel, and Elisha to be prophet in your place.”19

And we find that the Prophet Elijah only met with Elisha; with the last one God spoke of or God spoke to him about, that is the one he met with. And then, we find that he didn’t go and look for Hazael to anoint him, nor did he go and look for Jehu to anoint him, rather, he only dealt with Elisha, and Elisha became the servant of Elijah.20 Elijah knew he was the one who would come after him.

Therefore, Elisha was making good use of his time as servant of the Prophet Elijah; but Elisha didn’t know that he would be the one to continue Elijah’s ministry. The Scripture doesn’t say that Elijah had told Elisha: “You will be the one who will take my place. You will take my place.” No.

Now, when Elijah was going to leave, when he was going to be caught up to Heaven in a chariot of fire, in other words, a flying saucer, he told Elisha: “Ask what I shall do for you, before I leave.” And Elisha said to him: “Well, my request is that a double portion of the Spirit that is in you come upon me.” And Elijah said to him: “You have asked a hard thing.”21

Notice, for a prophetic ministry to be upon a man, that is a hard thing; because God already has that planned before the foundation of the world. God has planned who will be His prophet-messenger in each age and in each dispensation. Therefore, it is not a matter of someone saying: “I want a prophetic ministry,” because that has already been ordained by God before the foundation of the world.

But Elijah said to him: “You have asked a hard thing.” But Elijah remembered what God had said to him: that Elisha would be prophet in Elijah’s place. Therefore, the one who would continue Elijah’s ministry would be Elisha. So he said to Elisha: “If you see me when I am taken from you, your request will be granted; but if not, it won’t be granted to you.

Therefore, if Elijah went somewhere, Elisha would go with him. And if Elijah said to him: “Stay here, while I go over there,” Elisha would tell him: No, no. Wherever you go, I will go with you.”22

And when Elijah left in a chariot of fire, Elisha saw him. Elijah’s mantle fell, Elisha took it; and Elisha, who was very sad because his spiritual father had gone away, was left with Elijah’s mantle there; and he saw that he was not coming back, because Elijah had told him that he would go away.

Elisha was very sad, crying: “Chariots of Israel, chariots of Israel, have taken Elijah,” the spiritual father of Elisha (that is why he said: “My father, my father!”)23

Now, Elisha comes back sad, but with Elijah’s mantle as a sign that his request had been granted; and he went straight to use it for the first time, he went straight to use what had been granted to him: the twofold ministry he had asked for.

So, when he was on his way back on the same path, or to the same place they had come from, he faced Jordan: he lifted up his mantle… It was Elijah’s mantle, but now it was Elisha’s mantle, it went to another owner: from Elijah to Elisha; and that is a type of the Word of God and the Spirit of God. He lifted it up and said: “Where is the God of Elijah?” And he smote the waters, like Elijah did, and the waters parted.24

Now, notice how he spoke the name of Elijah: “Where is the God of Elijah?” And the waters parted.

The sons of the prophets, who were on the other side and had seen everything that was happening, they said: “The spirit of Elijah has rested on Elisha.”25 They saw that Elijah’s ministry had gone from Elijah to Elisha; and they knew that Elijah (Elijah the Tishbite) would no longer minister, but rather, that the ministry would go or went to another man.

They went to look for Elijah, to see if the Spirit of God had left him somewhere; they searched and he wasn’t there; he had gone, to never minister again.26 But his ministry would be passed on to another man, because the Spirit of God that was in Elijah went to Elisha.

The Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, is the One who has those ministries and the One who operates them in every prophet. That is why it says that the Spirit of Christ which was in them, it says that it testified the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow those sufferings.27

Now, we can see that when “the spirit of Elijah” or the spirit of any prophet is mentioned, it is the Spirit of Christ which was ministering in them, who ministers in another prophet, operating the same ministry.

Then we find that this second time, we find that it was Elisha who went to Hazael; and the mission or commission that had been given to the Prophet Elijah, to the ministry of Elijah, was fulfilled, not in the first Elijah but in the second Elijah, to anoint Hazael to be king over Syria28 and Jehu to be king over Israel.29

Because what Elijah is promised to do, if he doesn’t do it in his first manifestation of that ministry, he does it in the second manifestation of that ministry, or in the third, or in the fourth, or in the fifth manifestation. Whatever he has not done on any of the four previous occasions, and that he has the commission to do, he will do it in the fifth manifestation.

• Now, we can see that the third time the ministry of Elijah came, that Elijah who was to come to forerun the First Coming of Christ, was John the Baptist; and the ministry of Elijah was manifested in him for the third time.

And we find that the Archangel Gabriel said that John the Baptist would come in the Spirit and power of Elijah. And our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, in Saint Matthew chapter 11, verse 14, says (referring to John the Baptist, He says):

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

Jesus identified John as the Elijah which was to come, there in Saint Matthew chapter 11, verse 14. And in Saint Matthew chapter 17, verses 10 to 13, He also identifies him; it says:

And his disciples asked him (Jesus), saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

See? The scribes were waiting for the coming of Elijah, but they didn’t know the mystery of the coming of Elijah: that when God promises that Elijah will come, it means that the ministry of Elijah will come in another prophet.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things,” (He is referring to an Elijah who will come in the future, at the end time).

But I say unto you, That Elias is come already,” (now He is referring to John the Baptist, the one who came at that time), “and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

It is already the second time that Jesus identifies John the Baptist as the Elijah who was to come at that time, as the forerunner of the Coming of the Messiah, as the one who would be the voice of one crying in the wilderness and preparing the way of the Lord.30

He was His messenger, who would prepare the way of the Lord; and then who would come? The Angel of the Covenant, the Lord, the Messenger of the Covenant, whom the Hebrew people delighted in,31 because they were waiting for the Coming of Emmanuel (which being interpreted is: God with us), the Coming of the Angel of the Covenant, the Angel of the Lord; and when He came, He was a simple man: a young carpenter from Nazareth was the fulfillment of the First Coming of Christ.

Notice how It wasn’t fulfilled in a doctor of theology, nor in a doctor of divinity, nor in a priest; rather, the First Coming of the Messiah was fulfilled in a construction worker.

This was unbelievable to those who had human wisdom, because God hid these things pertaining to the First Coming of Christ from the eyes of the wise and prudent. But He revealed them to children; meaning, to those who didn’t have that theological knowledge, to those carpenters, and also to those fishermen, and to farmers, to simple people; God revealed to them the fulfillment of the First Coming of the Messiah.

And Christ, notice, testified that the Coming of the Messiah was fulfilled in Him.

When He took the Scripture of Isaiah chapter 61, here in Saint Luke chapter 4, He read those Scriptures. It says (chapter 4, verse 14 and on, says):

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Now notice, this Scripture about the Coming of God’s Anointed One, the Coming of the Christ, the Coming of the Messiah, was fulfilled among the Hebrew people; and Christ was testifying that it was fulfilled among them. In whom? In Himself.

Some said: “You are bearing record of Yourself; your record is not true.”32 But notice, He was bearing record of what God testified about the Coming of the Messiah. And He was giving a true testimony, because He was making known to all of them the fulfillment of the First Coming of the Messiah; which had already been there for about thirty years (let’s say, about twenty-nine and a half years), because this is the beginning of His ministry.

And when the Coming of the Messiah had been fulfilled among the Hebrew people for nearly thirty years, they still hadn’t discovered It?

And now Christ bears record of the fulfillment of the Coming of the Messiah, and now they don’t want to receive Him.

If you read, if you keep reading that passage, the people there in Nazareth (where he had been raised) stood up, furious, in the synagogue.

They said: “Isn’t this the son of Joseph? Isn’t this the son of the carpenter; and He is a carpenter too? How can they now say that He is the Messiah, that the Coming of God’s Anointed One has been fulfilled in Him?”33

And everyone in the synagogue rose up furious, they threw Him out and led Him to a cliff in the city, to cast Him down the cliff and kill Him; but He passed through them and went His way.34

The Messiah they were waiting for, notice how they wanted to kill Him from the beginning, from the moment He was born they wanted to kill Him; and now that His Ministry begins, they also want to kill Him; in other words, they always tried to kill Jesus.

That is why we find that after Christ was born in Bethlehem of Judea, we find that the life of Christ became a mystery. After He went to Egypt, we find that the Angel tells Joseph: “Go back to the land of Israel;”35 and He went back to the land of Israel, to Nazareth; and the child was raised there, and He grew or increased in wisdom and stature too; but not much is explained about the life of Jesus.

At the age of twelve, He appears in the history again,36 speaking with the priests there in Jerusalem, and asking them questions, and also answering the questions they asked Him; and they were all astonished by Him. And they said: “Who is this child? Who could this child be?” They didn’t know He was the Messiah. They didn’t know about the Messiah, they didn’t know that He was already among them. He was speaking with them and they didn’t even know He was the Messiah.

At twelve years old, notice, He manifested all this wisdom He already had; He increased in wisdom and knowledge of God, and also in grace and stature.

Now, notice how afterwards (from the age of twelve to the age of twenty-nine and a half) nothing is known. And that was good so that the devil wouldn’t know what was happening regarding the life of the Messiah; and so that He could continue to grow up and live among human beings as a common and ordinary man, without the devil realizing it; so that when the time came for Him to begin His ministry, He could begin, and the devil still wouldn’t realize He was the Messiah.

That is why sometimes he would tell Him: “If you are the Son of God, command that this happen.” And Jesus wouldn’t even pay attention to him: “You shall not tempt the Lord your God.”

— “Command that these stones be made bread.”

— “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”37

And the devil didn’t know that was really the Son of God, He was the Messiah, the Christ promised to the Hebrew people; and the Hebrew people didn’t know He was the Messiah either.

But Mary did know that was the Messiah; because from the time the Archangel Gabriel gave Mary the news, Mary kept all those things in her heart; and she went on to see the development of the life of Jesus all those years, and how God was working in His life, and she was keeping all those things in her heart.38

So, Mary is the person who had the knowledge of Jesus’ whole life story, even before He was born. And if she didn’t write the story, no one else can write it the way she could write it; and if she didn’t give the story to one of the writers, to write about this part that is hidden (let’s say, from the age of two to twelve, and after that: from the age of twelve to twenty-nine and a half), then that remained a secret. And during the Millennial Kingdom, we will ask Mary what the life of Jesus was like during all that time; and then we will write the full life story of Jesus, also including those years that are not recorded in the life story of Jesus.

Now, notice how all of this took place among the Hebrew people; and they didn’t realize the Messiah was among them, and the First Coming of the Messiah was being fulfilled there. It is because when people speak about the Coming of the Messiah, when they speak about the Coming of the Lord, they want everything to be fulfilled in one day; and God has a Program to carry out.

Now, notice how the Divine Program relevant to the First Coming of Christ was carried out; and He died on Calvary’s Cross, where many people thought that it was the defeat of Jesus; and yet, it was the moment when the Victory in Love Divine was taking place:

Christ bearing our sins, and washing us in His precious Blood, and going to hell in His theophanic Spirit, His theophanic Body; and taking the keys of hell and of death there, taking them away from the devil; and also preaching to the souls in prison, who were disobedient in the time of Noah;39 and then going to Paradise, where the Old Testament saints were waiting for Him; and then rising, because He had the keys of hell and of death.40

Since He had the keys of hell and death, He was able to get out of hell, and then He was also able to come out of death, with those who were in Paradise, whose physical bodies had died. And since He had the keys of death, well, He could rise, and He could raise all those who were there in Paradise with Him.

Now, we can see how the whole Divine Program pertaining to the First Coming of Christ was fulfilled in a time period of thirty-three years; that time period of thirty-three years encompasses the First Coming of Christ.

• And now, when the Second Coming of Christ is mentioned, notice, there is also mention of a forerunner who will come preparing the way for Him, who will come in the Spirit and power of Elijah; and that was John the Baptist in the First Coming; and in the Second Coming, it is or was Rev. William Branham; he is the Elijah who would come preparing the way of the Lord in His Second Coming.

And he said that the Lord would come as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, as King of kings and Lord of lords, and that He would come on a snow-white horse.

And in the Book The Revelation Of The Seven Seals, on page 318, he says the following:

[391] …May the Holy Spirit come down now, the white-horse Rider, while His Spirit, Spirit of Christ, in the face of antichrist, and call His Own.

Notice, the white-horse Rider is the Holy Spirit, Christ in Holy Spirit. And now, notice what the forerunner says the Coming of the white-horse Rider at the Last Day will be; notice what the Second Coming of Christ will be, the Coming of the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Coming of the King of kings and Lord of lords, the Coming of the Word. He says:

196 But when our Lord appears here on earth, He’ll be riding on a snow-white horse. And He’ll be completely, fully, the Emmanuel, the Word of God incarnate in a Man.” (Page 295 of the Book The Revelation Of The Seven Seals)

What does he say the Second Coming of Christ will be? The Word of God, the Word, the Holy Spirit, incarnate in a Man; because the fulfillment of the Coming of the Lord always needs a veil of flesh in order for that promise to be manifested.

And now, notice how back then it was in a young carpenter, a construction worker, who no one could have imagined would be the fulfillment of the First Coming of the Messiah.

For thirty-three years, the fulfillment of the First Coming of the Messiah was on Earth, and the great religious leaders of that time didn’t even realize that the First Coming of the Messiah was fulfilled among them.

The King of Israel was there, Emmanuel, God manifested in human flesh, the Word in human flesh, the Word coming in human flesh among the Hebrew people. That was the Coming of the Messiah, the Coming of the Angel of the Covenant, the Angel of the Lord.

And now, at the Last Day, we have the promise of the Second Coming of the Messiah, the promise of the Second Coming of Christ, the promise of the Coming of God’s Anointed One, the One Anointed with the Spirit of Christ, for the fulfillment of the Coming of the Lord as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, as King of kings and Lord of lords, in His Claiming Work.

And the forerunner of the Second Coming of Christ says that will be the Word incarnate in a Man. That is what is promised to be fulfilled at the Last Day, at this end time in which we are living.

And that doesn’t mean it will be a matter of one day or one week or one month. The First Coming of Christ was a matter of thirty-three years fulfilled among the human race.

Now, we can see that this mystery of the Seventh Seal is the mystery of the Second Coming of Christ.

And what did the forerunner of the Second Coming of Christ say about this promise? What did he say in other passages? He said that when the Seventh Seal starts being fulfilled, It will be a complete mystery. Pages 549 to 550 of the Book The Revelation Of The Seven Seals, says:

[304] Notice now, for the end-of-time Message, this Seal. After all, He—He has revealed all the six Seals, but He don’t say nothing about the Seventh,” (Seal). And the end-time Seal, when It starts, will be absolutely a total secret, according to the Bible.

Now, notice what he tells us, that it will be:

[304] …Absolutely a total secret, according to the Bible, before knowing That. And remember, Revelation 10:1-7, 1 to 7, chapter 10:1 to 7, ‘At the end of the seventh angel’s Message, all the mysteries of God would be known.’ We’re at the end time, the opening of the Seventh Seal.

305. Now, how did I know? The other day, last Sunday, a week ago today, when I was preaching on ‘Be humble! Be humble! Remember, God deals in little things.’ I didn’t realize what it really was talking about. And now I see it. It is in such a humble way! You would think that something like that would be revealed to the Vatican or…But It comes just like John the Baptist. It comes like the birth of our Lord, in a stable. Glory to God! So help me, the hour is at hand! Amen! We’re here. Oh, my!

Here we can see that everything will be like what happened in the First Coming of Christ: there was a forerunner, the forerunner of the First Coming of Christ. And at the Last Day, we would have another forerunner: the forerunner of the Second Coming of Christ, which was Rev. William Branham.

And then the One forerun would come, who is the instrument where the Spirit of Christ will be manifested, where the Holy Spirit comes manifested in the fulfillment of what is promised for the Last Day, where the Word comes manifested in human flesh; because that is the Coming of the white-horse Rider of Revelation.

[196] …When our Lord appears here on earth, He’ll be riding on a snow-white horse. And He’ll be completely, fully, the Emmanuel, the Word of God incarnate in a Man.

• Now, notice, just as the coming of Elijah, where every time Elijah comes it is the ministry of Elijah in another man…: it came in Elijah the Tishbite, then it came in Elisha, then it came in John the Baptist, then it came in Rev. William Branham for the fourth time; and at the Last Day, the ministry of Elijah comes for the fifth time: it comes for the fifth time, manifested in human flesh in a Prophet, in the Prophet of the Dispensation of the Kingdom, who is the Angel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And the ministry of Moses is also promised to be manifested at the Last Day; and that ministry will come manifested in the Angel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because the One who manifests those ministries is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ; and the Spirit of Christ will be in His Angel-Messenger at the Last Day.

And when He has promised the Coming and manifestation of the ministry of Jesus Christ for the second time, that is the ministry of Christ for the second time: manifested in the Angel of the Lord Jesus Christ; in whom the Spirit of Christ will be manifesting those ministries, those three great ministries that have been promised for the Last Day: the ministry of Jesus for the second time, the ministry of Elijah for the fifth time, and the ministry of Moses for the second time.

Now, notice how the mystery of the Seventh Seal is the mystery of the Second Coming of Christ, as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, as King of kings and Lord of lords in His Claiming Work.

That mystery of the Seventh Seal is the mystery of the Coming of Christ in Holy Spirit in His Angel-Messenger, manifesting the ministries of Jesus for the second time, Elijah for the fifth time, and Moses for the second time. That is the mystery of the Seventh Seal, which will last a number of years here on Earth.

And those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be granted to know this mystery of the Seventh Seal; just like not everyone was granted to know the mystery of the First Coming of Christ, only the people for whom it was ordained.

Christ says that the mysteries of the Kingdom of God were made known to those who believed in Christ. Notice, here in Saint Matthew chapter 13, verse 11 and on, it tells us the following. Let’s see… verse 10 and on says:

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

And then… notice, it says:

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them,” (in other versions it says: “and I should save them”).

But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Now, notice that all these things that the people of the past desired to see and hear, and understand, were now being seen and being heard and being understood by the disciples of Jesus Christ.

They were blessed to understand those things; they were seeing the Coming of the Messiah and they were understanding It, and they were hearing the Messiah preaching the Message of the Gospel, they were hearing the Messiah preaching the Acceptable Year of the Lord.

In [Matthew] chapter 11, verses 25 to 27, Christ says:

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Now, notice that it wasn’t a matter of human wisdom, it wasn’t a matter of who knows more, of who has studied more; it was a matter of he to whom the Son would reveal Him. And Jesus Christ was revealing to His disciples the mystery of the First Coming of Christ, the mystery of His Coming in human flesh in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, that young carpenter from Nazareth. It was in a simple way that the First Coming of Christ was fulfilled.

And now, at the Last Day, all these things repeat; and only the wise will understand. And these wise ones are those whose names have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life before the foundation of the world, who will be living at this Last Day, and who will hear the Voice of Christ; because “He that is of God hears God’s Voice” and “My sheep hear My Voice, and they follow Me.”

Therefore, His sheep will hear His Voice at the Last Day, in the Age of the Cornerstone, and they will be called and gathered and put in the Age of the Cornerstone; and their understanding and their heart will be opened to understand all these mysteries of the Seventh Seal, to understand the mystery of the Seventh Seal, the mystery of the Second Coming of Christ, as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, as King of kings and Lord of lords in His Claiming Work; in order to understand that mystery, and thus, receive the faith, the revelation, to be changed and raptured at this Last Day.

Because without the knowledge of the Second Coming of Christ, there is no transformation for us who are alive, nor rapture to go to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

The Second Coming of Christ is required, and we must obtain the knowledge of His Second Coming as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, as King of kings and Lord of lords, in His Claiming Work, to thus have the faith, the revelation, of the Second Coming of Christ; and thus, to be prepared to be changed and raptured at this Last Day.

We have seen: “THE MYSTERY OF THE SEVENTH SEAL.” The mystery due to which there was silence in Heaven for almost half an hour, so that the fulfillment of the Seventh Seal–which would last quite some years–wouldn’t be interrupted; in other words, the whole fulfillment wouldn’t be in one day, rather, it would be for a time period of a certain number of years.

And now, we are living at the time of the Seventh Seal, we are living in the greatest and most glorious time of all times.

And at the end of the Seventh Seal, that will be the end of all things; and that will be when the dead in Christ rise and we who are alive will be changed; because at the end of the Seventh Seal is when the climax of the Program of the Second Coming of Christ takes place.

Just like at the end of the First Coming of Christ, when He was thirty-three years old, at the end of His ministry, He carried out the Work as Lamb of God, dying on Calvary’s Cross: that was the end of the First Coming of Christ.

And the end of the Second Coming of Christ is when the Claiming Work is made and the dead in Christ are raised, and we who are alive are changed; and that is when we reach the climax of the Seventh Seal.

But before that, the elect will be seeing everything that will be happening under the Seventh Seal, because it is given unto them to know the mystery of the Seventh Seal, in a new age: the Age of the Cornerstone, and in a new dispensation.

And it will be a great blessing to God’s elect, just as it was to the elect who followed Jesus, who saw the fulfillment of the Coming of the Messiah in Jesus; although He still hadn’t carried out the Work of Redemption on Calvary’s Cross, but they already knew He was the Messiah, the Christ, the King of Israel.

And now, at the Last Day, before the resurrection of the dead in Christ and our transformation, God’s elect will know the mystery of the Seventh Seal, the mystery of the Second Coming of Christ, the mystery of the Coming of the Holy Spirit, of Jesus Christ in Holy Spirit, veiled and revealed in His Angel-Messenger, making known to us all these things which must shortly come to pass.

And no one will be able to know who it is, no one will be able to know who the Lord Jesus Christ is, and no one will be able to know who the Angel of Jesus Christ is, except, notice: No one will know the Angel of the Lord Jesus Christ except the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one will be able to know Jesus Christ, who Jesus Christ manifested at the Last Day is, except His Angel-Messenger; and he to whom His Angel will reveal Him. And He will be revealing Him to God’s elect in the Age of the Cornerstone and Dispensation of the Kingdom.

Not in past ages, but in the age of the Last Day, that is in effect, which is the Age of the Cornerstone and the Dispensation of the Kingdom.

That is where we have the ones to whom He will be revealing the mystery of who His Angel is and who Jesus Christ manifested at the Last Day as the Lion of the tribe of Judah is; because through this manifestation of Christ through His Angel-Messenger, we obtain all the knowledge of the mystery of the Seventh Seal, of the mystery of the Second Coming of Christ.

And hearing the Voice of Christ through His Angel-Messenger is hearing the Seven Thunders of Revelation chapter 10, verse 1 to 11; and it is hearing the Great Voice of Trumpet or Last Trumpet, making known to us all these things which must shortly come to pass, at the Last Day and in the Age of the Cornerstone.

It has been a great privilege to be with you tonight, testifying to you about the Seventh Seal: We have seen that it is the mystery of the Second Coming of Christ as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, as King of kings and Lord of lords in His Claiming Work; a mystery that would be revealed to God’s elect at this Last Day, in the Age of the Cornerstone and Dispensation of the Kingdom.

Outside of that age, there is no revelation of the Seventh Seal.

In the Age of the Cornerstone and Dispensation of the Kingdom is where the wise will be, to understand all these things which must shortly come to pass, through the Message of Jesus Christ through His Angel-Messenger.

It has been a great privilege to be with you, testifying to you about: “THE MYSTERY OF THE SEVENTH SEAL.”

May the blessings of Jesus Christ be upon each of you, beloved friends and brethren present, and radio listeners, and television viewers; and may Jesus Christ fully open your understanding so that you may understand all these things which must happen at this end time, all these mysteries of the Kingdom of God.

And soon may all the elect who are yet to be called and gathered, be called and gathered; and may the number of God’s elect of this Last Day be completed; and may we all be changed and raptured, and the dead in Christ be raised. In the Eternal Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
